When it comes to selling in the fall, most homeowners believe that doing so means they’re behind the curve. However, there are a few good reasons to think about selling this time of year. Today I’ll share three reasons why you might find some great opportunities if you choose to list your home this season.

    1. Buyers are more serious. People who are looking for properties in the fall and winter months tend to be more serious because they’re spending their holiday time viewing homes. Some buyers need to make a purchase before the end of the year for tax purposes, and traditionally, January is the month when employees begin new jobs. To capture this pool of buyers, sellers need to be on the market in the fall.

    2. There’s less competition. Most people will put their property on the market during the spring since it’s technically labeled as the best time of year to sell. When the fall rolls around, more and more people will take their homes off the market due to the upcoming holidays and seasonal consideration. Because there is a reduced inventory in the fall real estate market, there are fewer options for buyers to choose from, which can lead to a more competitive price for your property.

    3. Interest rates are low. Rates have recently reached historic lows, and with lower rates, buyers can afford more home based on what they qualify for. As rates increase, buyers lose some buying power.

In the end, now is a great time to consider selling your property. If you’re also in the market to purchase a home or you’d like to find out more about when would be the best time for you to list your home, please feel free to reach out to us. We hope to hear from you soon!
